Le Dos indocile des mots
Nicole Brossard · Translated by Karen McPherson
F
au fil des fureurs et au figuré
fougue et fugue
fabuleuse fresque
forward through furors and into the figurative
frenzy and faerie
fabulous fresco
oh my fossil folly fragrant with fennel and fado
frozen seas and Frisian fit to tell of a foal
at the mare’s flank, again Frisian
for that “language that makes up a branch of low German”
while I feverishly fly to you fair girl of the future
out past frontiers and fragile flocks
